Why We Built LUMORA
Photo libraries outgrew folders years ago. Search that understands a scene, faces that group people, and “on this day” rediscovery became table stakes — but most products trade that convenience for cloud lock-in or a subscription.
LUMORA exists because local-first should not mean “dumb folder browser.” We wanted Google Photos–style findability and Mylio-class ownership without uploading a life’s worth of images or paying rent on our own files.
The bet is simple: index where files already live, run optional AI on-device, keep the stack open (MIT), and let plugins extend workflows without a network sandbox escape hatch.
If that resonates, download a build or star the repo.
